BH Front Desk Registration Specialist

General Description:

This position provides assistance to callers inquiring about Caring Health Center’s Integrated Behavioral Health and Recovery Care services. The candidate will report directly to the Behavioral Health Director. The requirements below are a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbent in this job. Candidate must maintain confidentiality of patients and CHC information. Participate in appropriate team conferences, staff meetings, in-service trainings and consultations with physicians and CHC staff to ensure continuity of care. Enter, maintain and submit all documentation, in a timely manner according to BH and CHC policies.

 Reports to:                 Director of Behavioral Health

Salary/Status:               Non-Exempt

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Bilingual, Spanish required.
  • Associate’s degree in business administration, social services or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Behavioral Health and Recovery concerns.
  • Respect and compassion for clients who have BH diagnoses.
  • Professional and respectful attitude required at all times while working with patients and staff.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to document activities in a professional, concise and accurate manner.
  • Good decision making and organizational skills.
  • Willing to work independently and as a Team member.
  • A strong desire to help CHC clients as needed within the parameters of the job description.
  • Detail oriented; able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

 Principle Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Check in/out BH/Recovery clients
  • Answer telephone calls to front desk and redirect or resolve client concerns.
  • Make reminder calls to clients scheduled for next day appointments
  • Run daily eligibility report for clients scheduled.
  • Alert clinicians and client when insurance has expired then direct clients to navigators.
  • Responsible for the accurate and complete review/entry of current client demographic information
  • Familiarity of resources within CHC to refer clients as needed.
  • Mastery of EPIC/OCHIN functionality in CHC’s Integrated Health Record.
  • The incumbent may be requested to perform job related tasks other than those stated in this description.

 Working Conditions:

  1. This position requires the ability to use a computer workstation, working in an Electronic Medical Record.
  2. Collaborate with BH Team members and medical staff.
  3. May be asked to complete tasks other than on his job description.
